3rd German-Pakistani Workshop on FIELD and ASSISTIVE ROBOTICS
Nov 16-17, LUMS School of Science & Engineeing, Lahore, Pakistan

A workshop on field and assistive robotics will take place on Nov 16-17, 2012 at the LUMS School of Science & Engineering in the cultural heart of Pakistan, Lahore. The theme of the workshop is to introduce new and exciting areas of research in field and off-road robotics. It is 3rd in a series of similar events, piloted by the 1st Pak-German Workshop on Field Robotics held in October 2011 in Lahore, followed by the 2nd German-Pakistani Workshop on Field and Assistive Robotics held in June 2012 in Dagstuhl, Germany. Following the concept from previous events, the workshop will cover a diverse range of related topics, such as motion planning algorithms; biomimetic robotic mechanisms; terrain classification; and other issues associated with the development of autonomous robots. The workshop will feature mini-courses and research presentations by experts in field robotics from University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. The workshop will also provide an opportunity for robotics researchers in Pakistan to exchange ideas and develop new collaborations in this emerging area.
